    I’ve placed 3 orders with Chick Downtown in the last month and have had only great experiences. I got my most recent order today via FedEx, each item individually wrapped in tissue paper, in a gift box with a ribbon. Rag & Bone dress, Vince skirt and Jill Stuart skirt, all at a steep discount.

    I would continue to post their codes, as I know I will be ordering from them again. I have heard about all the complains, however, but all I’ve never had a problem (knock on wood…).

    I too have never had any problems with Chick Downtown but thanks for the heads up!!! I wonder if RareChic has had any complaints since I am still awaiting a refund from august 08 and have had the hardest time getting any helpful assistance.

    Hi grechen,

    I’m having a very hard time with Rarechic. They never shipped my earnest sewn jeans to me (ordered on March 5th) and have started avoiding me altogether when I email/call. I am still waiting for some sort of explanation and refund. Unfortunately I am forced to dispute this through my bank and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I found a similiar complain on: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/internet-c177392.html. So I guess this is not solely my problem.

    I actually had a similar terrible experience with Owls Lab this year, but finally received a refund 6 MONTHS later. Check yelp.com for owls lab complaints. They seem to be very bad about refunding and responding to customers.

    I just posted the following message in the complaints board:

    …I also had problems with Rare chic on an order of wallpaper I made in December 2008. It never arrived, and I was charge for it immediately. A first e-mail I sent inquiring about the order was answered by Leslie G. Lewis (leslie@rarechic.com), in it I was informed that “since the product I ordered was hand made it will take 4 weeks before it is finished” and that “due to the holidays there was a tiny bit of a back-up”. After this answer, I was never able to get hold of anyone and I never received the order I paid for.
